Psychotherapy for adults

People decide to try psychotherapy for many different reasons. It may be that you have a specific issue that you want to focus on, or it may be that you are feeling at a crossroads in your life, or have a sense of not feeling ‘quite right ‘ and want some help in finding a way forward.

Life throws us many things to deal with, and sometimes this is too overwhelming to deal with within your family and social network. You may, of course, want to explore your behaviour and emotions in a safe environment using the arts as a tool for personal growth.

Therapy would take place every week during a 50-minute session. The number of sessions will depend on the nature of the issues you want to explore. Short-term work usually takes up to 16 sessions. Whereas longer-term work can range from 6 months to 2 or more years.

Assessment process

The initial assessment is an important part of the work. It is a two way process where you can discuss what you are looking for and ask questions. It also enables me to find out more about you, and the type of issues you wish to explore.
