WELCOME, I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE
A Little About Me
Deciding to start therapy is a significant step, and it is important to find a space where you feel both understood and professionally supported.
With over 30 years in the caring profession, I have dedicated my career to helping people navigate complex life challenges. As a UKCP-registered adult and child psychotherapist, I am uniquely trained to work with adults, young people and children.
My Journey & Experience
My career began in residential care for teenage girls, where I gained a deep understanding of the systemic and personal challenges faced by young people. Over the decades, I have worked in NHS and private psychiatric units, schools, and drug and alcohol support services. I’ve held a private practice for over 15 years, working from clinics in Brighton and Hove and Harley Street in London.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a UKCP-listed supervisor for qualified and trainee therapists. You can find more details on the Professional Services page.
Whether I am working with a parent navigating family life, a student facing the pressures of university, or a professional in a high-pressure role, I aim to provide a steady, reliable space for you to do this work.
Online Therapy: Support in Your Own Space
While I value the nature of in-person work, my current clinical position requires me to work exclusively online. I have found that this provides a flexible, confidential, and accessible space that fits into your life without adding extra pressure. Meeting in your own environment can be a more settled and focused experience.
By meeting online, we can:
- Remove the stress of travel: No commuting, no traffic, and no hunting for a parking space.
- Prioritise your privacy: No clinical waiting rooms—just a secure, confidential connection.
- Feel more settled: For young people and students especially, being in a familiar environment makes it much easier to engage and find their voice.
How We’ll Work Together
I describe my style as a blend of warmth and compassionate challenge. I am an interactive therapist; I don’t just sit and listen—I engage with you.
I am human, and it is my absolute aim to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be your authentic self.
My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and focused on your strengths. I work with people from all walks of life, including:
- Adults & Parents: Navigating the complexities of depression, anxiety, relationship changes, or the specific challenges of parenthood and family life.
- Students & Young People: Supporting those in school, college, or university dealing with transition, low mood, bereavement, or self-harm.
- Creative & Performing Arts: As a listed therapist for BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine), I support performers and those in creative industries managing burnout and performance anxiety.
- Inclusivity & Specialisms: I provide a safe space for those in the adult performance industry and sex workers. I am a proud provider for Pineapple Support and am listed on the National Ugly Mugs (NUM) directory.
A Holistic Perspective
As a qualified yoga teacher, I bring a body-aware, holistic perspective to our sessions. This is particularly helpful if you feel “stuck” or disconnected, as we can work on helping you feel more grounded and physically connected as we process emotional challenges.
EMDR Therapy
I am an EMDR and Attachment-Informed EMDR therapist. This is a powerful, evidence-based approach used to help both adults and young people process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. To read more about this, please visit the EMDR page.
Let’s See if We’re a Good Fit
Choosing a therapist is a personal decision. To help you decide, I offer a free 15–20 minute phone consultation. It’s a straightforward chance for us to have a brief chat about what is happening for you and see if I am the right person to help.
Ready to talk? Please fill out the form on the Contact Page with a brief note, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
QUALIFICATIONS
I have a Diploma in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy (IATE) and a Diploma in Integrative Child Psychotherapy (IATE), and I’m registered on both the adult and child registers on the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I also hold the European Certificate of Psychotherapy EAP and remain a registered member of the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education.
