Assessments
Why would my child or I need an assessment?
An assessment helps us to learn more about you or your child’s particular difficulties. It also provides you with an opportunity to hear more about the way in which we work and ask any further questions which you may have. It is also a time where we can think together about therapy and whether, at this particular time, it is the best option for you or your child. It is a no-commitment first meeting, which will hopefully help you in making a decision.
How long does an assessment last?
The assessment meeting is the same as a single therapy session. It lasts for 50 minutes. When working with children, it may be necessary for the therapist to meet with the parent/carer for more than one assessment meeting (if a full developmental history is needed).
Do I have to pay?
Yes, the cost of an assessment is the same as a single therapy session. You can see the fee structure at the top of this page.
Cancellation policy for assessments
Once you have made an appointment for an assessment, we ask you to give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. Otherwise, the full assessment fee will be owed
